Gwendolen was born in Toulouse, in the South-West of France, in 1986 where she grew up and still lives today.

Although she was born into a sportive but non-equestrian family, she began riding at the age of five on Wednesday afternoons.

She started eventing on ponies at the age of 8. At 10 she took part in her first French ponies championships and won her first pony grand prix at 12. In 2002, she made a grand slam on the ponies grand-prix circuit, won the pony “Coupe de France” and became French ponies champion as well as French Junior champion. Pascal Leroy used to coach her at that time.

In 2006, at 20 years old, she was the youngest participant in the World Championships for 7-year old horses, finishing 13th with Leria du Ter. In 2007, Gwendolen with Leria du Ter became French young riders champion. Unfortunately, Leria was injured during the preparation phase and the couple was not able to take part in the European Young rider championships ( Bruno Bouvier trains her since 2004).

In 2008, Gwendolen went to her first CCI*** at Kruth, came 8th and won the cross-country.

In 2009, for her first 4-star event (amongst the biggest in the world), she has achieved in Pau an impressive debut. At 23 years old, as the competition's youngest rider, she ranked: 7th individually and 2nd by team with the French squad. Gwendolen and her mare won the cross-country test with the only one clear round of one of the top 6 competitions in the world. She also won the HSBC Trophy of the best “rookie” at this level of competition.

These performances are the result of a regular progression over the years and enable Gwendolen to set herself new goals today for the coming seasons.

Although determined to pursue a professional career in eventing, Gwendolen was encouraged by her family to gain further education. Having successfully achieved her BA in Economics & Management in 2009 Gwendolen pursues her studies and was admitted in the 1st year of a postgraduate business school, at ESC Grenoble (top 10 French business school).

On top of her studies she manages to dedicate significant time to training and competitions. Recently, Gwendolen passed her horse riding teaching diploma issued by the French Ministry of Sports. She also manages the new family stables : “Ecurie des Houarn”. In 2010, she signed the best performance of a French rider in a grand-slam event with a 6th place in the CCI**** in Pau.

In 2011, Gwendolen and Leria du Ter were short-listed by Laurent Bousquet (French team head coach) in the 9 best French eventing couples. Please note that Gwendolen is the youngest and the only girl of this list.

Gwendolen is looking for new horses, owners, supporters and sponsors. If you are interested in joining the fun and excitement and supporting her in any way please do not hesitate to contact us.
